Intermediate Sewing Course
Recommended for grads of Learn to Sew or confident beginners
This intermediate course is a guided sew-along designed to help you build skills in a clear, practical way. Instead of learning techniques in isolation, you’ll practice each step and then apply it directly to a real garment.
Together, we’ll make a pair of fixed-waistband pants with an invisible zipper. At each stage of the process, we’ll work through short technique mock-ups first — then move straight into sewing that same skill on your pants. This gives you better context, more confidence, and a deeper understanding of how garments come together.
This course is a great fit if you’re comfortable using a sewing machine and following basic patterns, and you’re ready to take on more structure and detail — with support along the way.
You’ll learn how to:
Using fusible interfacing for structure
Finishing seams and edges with bias tape
Understitching for clean, professional results
Inserting an invisible zipper
Constructing a fixed waistband
Sewing a complete pair of pants from start to finish
