Textile Mending Cafe | Oct. 1, 2022

Participants mending a piece of clothing at the mending cafe.

Event Recap

We had a great day bringing new life to some well-worn clothes in Saturday’s Mending Cafe at the North Vancouver City Library. We worked on leggings, sweatshirts, pants, rain jackets and backpacks!

Attendees of the mending workshop had the opportunity to use the sewing machines and tools to try their hand at basic mending methods. Library staff and chenko studios team members were on site to provide the best mending approach, walk people through the basics and even help with more complicated fixes and techniques.

Our company was founded on the principle of eliminating textile waste - extending the useful life of garments is one step towards achieving that goal!

Thank you to the entire team at North Vancouver City library for hosting this forward-thinking event and for inviting our team!
